Cesar Chavez 2025 is a nationwide initiative that goals to extend the variety of Latino lecturers by 1 million by 2025. The initiative was launched by the Cesar Chavez Basis in 2012 and is known as after the legendary labor chief and civil rights activist.
The initiative goals to handle the important scarcity of Latino lecturers in the USA. In accordance with the Nationwide Heart for Schooling Statistics, solely 8% of public faculty lecturers are Latino, whereas Latino college students make up 25% of the general public faculty pupil inhabitants. This scarcity has a damaging influence on Latino college students, who usually tend to drop out of college and fewer more likely to attend faculty when they don’t have entry to Latino lecturers.
